Jackson loved the zoo so much last weekend that we decided to go back today. He is really interested in animals right now so having a zoo nearby is big plus. Also, it's nice to know there is something fun to do. Since moving here to Longview, we've been mourning the Mayborn Museum, the Waco zoo, all of our old parks, etc. So we are thrilled to welcome The Caldwell Zoo into our lives! It's really beautiful. Just like the rest of east Texas, there are huge trees everywhere and the layout is great. We went with some friends today and got to see things we didn't on Saturday. We got to watch the penguins being fed. They were so cute waiting patiently for their fish. The otters were also a big hit (though not as cool as the Otter slide in Waco). We made a stop by the petting zoo to annoy some goats for a while. Elliot and Donaven loved that but Jackson and Caroline didn't really want anything to do with them. I think Jackson enjoyed getting to wash his hands in the lion sink afterward more than he did the goats. Anyway, I know you're dying for more zoo pictures so I won't disappoint you.

Seriously. You rock. You are totally employed as our family photographer. I feel ashamed to even post my pictures ;) It was really fun. It made me love the area more. Definitely a step in the right direction!
