The Newmans might be cursed. Watch out.

Our Labor day weekend was spent with the lovely Stephens family. They drove in late Friday night with their 2 little ones in tow. We were really happy to have them and I had many plans for our Saturday.

They got their girls to bed in Caroline's room and the grown ups stayed up late talking and watching tv.

We finally made it to bed around midnight. Around 3am, baby Dylan was having trouble breathing so off to the ER she and her mom and dad went. Bummer, right. About 3 hours later, they made it back and Dylan was doing much better. However, didn't really want to go to sleep. So, poor Michael and Carrie didn't really get to sleep either. Not a good start to a fun filled Saturday.

Anyway, Saturday came and we made a few adjustments to our plans. We'd planned a picnic at the park. Sounds fun, right. Well, it was, mostly. We weren't totally prepared for the ants that crashed our party. They were viscous!! But they didn't drive us away. We managed to sit and eat with our feet elevated off the ground just slightly. We showed them! In spite of the ants, we were doing really well until Scout decided to jump off the end of the slide. It would have been a great trick had she not landed on her sweet little face. Michael rushed her away to the bathroom (thankfully this park had facilities) to clean up her dirt covered face. They came back and all seemed fine. We played a while longer before heading home for naps.

For the most part the kiddos slept beautifully at nap time and the mommies and daddies were able to get some much needed rest too. It wasn't until nap time was over that we realized Scout was not so ok from her fall. Carrie brought her out to me to ask for an ice pack because poor Scout's nose was purple. Not good.

It was really great to see the Stephenses and have them over, however, I fear they may never want to come here again. Michael and Carrie, I will see about lifting the curse that's on our house before you come again.

Thanks for coming. Sorry your children got sick and beat up. :-)

great post and great shot of the kids. You're not cursed at all. Sounds like the normal kind of weekends we have. :)
