The kids and I spent last week in WF with my mom. We were all so excited to see her and when we finally pulled into her driveway and got out of the car the kids ran to her with open arms. Later that evening, as we were on our way to chow down on pizza, Jackson said, "It's a great day to come to your house, Oma!" It sure was. We kept ourselves busy there and had many great adventures which included visiting some local prairie dogs, making burlap curtains, seeing old friends and a snow village. Don't you love adventures?
The weather was ideal the entire week so we spent a lot of time outside. The backyard at Oma's house is where my kids like to be and, likewise, where Oma prefers to be. Oma's green thumb gets bored in the winter and can't wait to get back out in the soil and back to beautifying the garden.
My mom's garden is her pride and joy. She waits anxiously for the warmer weather to return each year and watches for signs of life to emerge from the ground. Her garden is pretty bare in the winter time but my kids think it's pretty fun, too. They especially like it because they don't have to be as careful where they step. One evening, as the sun set, we spent some time running around Oma's garden and enjoying the spring like weather. I'm sure it only fueled my mother's desire for actual spring.
Apparently, Caroline doesn't quite know how to drink from a water bottle and needed a little help.
This place really is a site to see when it's all abloom. I think I'm a bit anxious for spring myself.
