You've read about our good friends, the Fishes, here before. They were some of our law school family from Waco. Remember them? Ok, now you've got it. Well, last month Leah sent an email saying she'd been training for a half marathon and there just happened to be one coming up in Longview (they live in Dallas now). She had the idea to come in on Friday the 18th and stay the night here for her race early Saturday morning. The plan was for some of their 6 member family to stay at our house and some with Devin and Jana down the street. Sounds pretty fun, right? It was. They got into town Friday evening and Jana, Elliot, Leah and the older Fish girls came down here while Zeb, Chad and Devin went to have some guy time at the Huggins home and let the babies sleep there. So we had quite the houseful here, but the kids were so happy to see each other. It had been almost a year since we'd seen each other. Jackson and Caroline got to have their very first sleepover. We had 5 kids in Jackson's room. It was quite a sight!
Aren't they all so cute!
Leah was up super early Saturday morning to get to her race on time. A little later, Zeb was at our house with signs for his girls to hold up along the race to cheer on their mom. We tagged along to cheer her on as well.
She's in that group there. It was great to be there to support her.
We even made some signs of our own when we made our second stop along the race route.
Here they are just minutes after Leah crossed the finish line.
She did such an awesome job!!
It was so great to see this wonderful family again and even more great to be there to support Leah in her race. It even made me consider doing one. And I hate to run.
