We rode the Christmas Train!!

The Christmas Train in Jefferson is a new Newman family tradition.
We got there early enough to take a little trip down to the Jefferson General Store.
It's a must visit if you're in Jefferson, TX.
They have an abundance of candy and trinkets to keep your eyes busy and candy buckets low enough to the ground to keep your little ones' hands busy.  :-)

There was a problem with one of the wheels so we ended up waiting a while to get the ride started, but we were patient and with our big brown sack full of general store treats, we were entertained.
We like to sit at the back of the train so we're close to this guy - the official train ride caroler.  He leads us in yodel infused Christmas carol favorites.  He doesn't always get the words or the melody right, but he does it without apology.  And when he adds a nice yodel to the end it makes up for the fact that "O Holy Night" were the only correct words he sang in the entire carol.
We enjoyed our ride this year.  And as in last year we shared the experience with our friends, the Hugginses.

Highlight of the night: Azure running up to and hugging a man with a big white beard and Santa hat and then exclaiming, "I hugged Santa!"
